Itinerary Details

Day 1: Rome
With 28 centuries of remarkable history, Rome offers unrivaled adventures at every turn. Once the heart of the world’s largest empire, the city pulsates with life, showcasing a tapestry of ancient ruins, world-famous art, and vibrant street culture. Embrace 'la dolce vita' as you savour the flavors of traditional pasta in a cosy trattoria. Glide past historic basilicas in a three-wheeled Ape Calessino or be mesmerised by masterpieces of Italian art at Villa Borghese. From the spiritual charm of Vatican City to the enchanting backstreets of Trastevere and the storied legacy of the Colosseum, The Eternal City invites you to explore its endless treasures.

Day 2: Messina, Sicily
Messina serves as Sicily's stunning gateway, nestled at the northeastern tip of the island, just a stone's throw from mainland Italy. Wander through a captivating maze of churches and historic palaces, with the iconic Messina Cathedral at the city's heart. Here, the largest mechanical clock in the world chimes daily at noon, bringing to life statues that dance to Schubert's "Ave Maria." In front of the cathedral, the Fontana di Orione, a 16th-century fountain, showcases intricate sculptures from ancient mythology. Take a leisurely stroll to the Sacrario di Cristo Re, a hilltop church offering breathtaking panoramic views of the town and surrounding mountains.

Day 3: Cruising at Sea

Day 4: Santorini
Santorini stands out as one of the world's most beloved islands, famous for its stunning landscapes, charming whitewashed villages, and active volcanoes. Adventure awaits above the Aegean Sea in exhilarating ways. A cable car whisks you up to Fira, a lively cliffside town filled with historic cathedrals, fascinating museums, and inviting tavernas. Head to the coast for a swim in the azure waters that caress red and black pebbled beaches, or explore the ancient ruins of Akrotiri, revealing layers of history beneath the lava. Whether by bicycle, ATV, or on foot, discovering this Cycladic gem promises unforgettable experiences.

Day 5: Mykonos
Nestled in the vibrant Cyclades archipelago, Mykonos exudes an infectious energy. With its pristine white buildings, azure waters, and lively nightlife, the Island of the Winds is as colourful as its inhabitants. Stroll along narrow marble pathways adorned with blooming bougainvillea, or cycle past the charming village of Ano Mera. Delve into Greece’s maritime heritage at Armenistis Lighthouse and admire Mykonian ship models at the Folklore Museum. Join the spirited beach parties at Super Paradise or unwind with a stunning sunset view from an open-air seaside taverna.

Day 6: Cruising at Sea

Day 7: Naples/Capri
With the majestic Mount Vesuvius looming in the background, Naples is a bustling Italian city overflowing with beauty. Discover its neoclassical architecture at sites like Gesu Nuovo Church, featuring a lavish interior of frescoes, statues, and gold accents. Explore the San Gennaro catacombs, the burial site of Naples' first bishops from the second century A.D. Stroll along the Miglio Sacro ("Holy Mile") and enjoy people-watching in the cafes and shops of the Sanita district with a zuccherato (sweetened espresso) in hand. Hop on a cruise from Naples for a short bus ride to the base of Mount Vesuvius, where an easy 20- to 30-minute hike will take you to the summit, followed by a tour of the ancient ruins of Pompeii.

Day 8: Rome
Returning to Rome, the city continues to enchant with its rich tapestry of history and culture. Whether you're indulging in pasta at a local trattoria, zipping past ancient sites in an Ape Calessino, or marveling at art in Villa Borghese, the spirit of the Eternal City invites exploration.
