Itinerary Details

Day 1: Southampton
Situated on England's South Coast, Southampton is a city rich in surprises. As one of Europe's largest ports, it offers a wealth of experiences for day visitors. Step back in time in the old town, walking along medieval town walls dating back to 1290. Don’t miss Bargate, a 12th-century gatehouse built by the Normans. Visit the SeaCity Museum to discover the history of the Titanic, which famously departed from Southampton in 1912. For those looking to explore further, the iconic Stonehenge is just an hour's drive away.

Day 2: Cruising at Sea.

Day 3: Bilbao
In Bilbao, the old and new converge in Spain's Basque Country, near the French border. Once an industrial center, the city transformed into a cultural hub with the opening of the Guggenheim Museum in 1997. Modern trams glide along historic streets, like the Siete Calles in the medieval Casco Viejo, filled with boutiques and cafes. The city features striking contemporary architecture, including the titanium-clad Guggenheim and the Gran Hotel Domine, alongside the Nervion River. A cruise here will reveal why Bilbao is celebrated as the pride of the Basque region.

Day 4: La Coruna
La Coruna, perched on a rocky peninsula, is steeped in ancient Roman history and maritime heritage. Explore the Crystal City near the harbour, known for its 19th-century glass balconies reflecting the Atlantic’s shimmering waters. Walk the Paseo Maritimo to enjoy ocean views and reach the Cidade Vella, the old town rich in historical remnants. Don’t miss the ancient Roman Wall and the Tower of Hercules, an active Roman lighthouse since the 2nd century A.D.

Day 5: Vigo
As you enter the harbour of Vigo, the largest city in Galicia, Spain, the sun shines down on your adventure. Start with a hike up to the Castro Fortress for stunning views of the city and surrounding mountains. Discover local culture at museums like Museo do Mar Galicia, showcasing oceanography and ecosystems, or the Vigo Museum of Contemporary Art, featuring innovative exhibits. For some fresh air, walk the GR-53 coastal trail or unwind at the beautiful Cies Beach.

Day 6: Gijón
Once an ancient Roman port, Gijón is now a vibrant seaside city filled with cider houses, beachside promenades, and historical museums. As the largest city in Asturias, Gijón beautifully blends its rich history with modern charm. Stroll along the waterfront, explore porticoed buildings and cobbled streets, and visit the Jardin Botanico Atlantico for a tranquil experience among exotic plants. Don’t miss the stunning sea views from Mirador Parque de la Providencia.

Day 7: Cruising at Sea.

Day 8: Southampton
Returning to Southampton, this city on England's South Coast continues to impress. Explore the old town with its medieval town walls and the historic Bargate. Visit the SeaCity Museum to delve into the Titanic's fascinating history, or venture into the nearby Hampshire countryside, where the iconic Stonehenge awaits just an hour's drive away.
