Tips and advice from our travel advisors

Pay the extra for your Vietnam visa. Don’t wing it at the border – the line can be very long. Instead, pay the money for it and get it done here beforehand, and you will be first through customs.

Book private sightseeing tours to do the things you want to do. They are often reasonably priced still and allow you more freedom, choice and time to see what you want to see and do. When we were there we were on a private food scooter tour and were absolutely treated like royalty. We passed another tour that had 13 people on it which was very hectic and everyone was sort of jockeying for the best position to see/do/taste.
