I recently had the awesome opportunity to travel to Cambodia, a place I’ve always aspired to experience.

Starting in Phnom Penh we delved straight into the history of the county by visiting the Kings Palace, The Killing Fields, S-21 Prison and the National Museum…. avery heavy and emotional day but very important in the history of Cambodia and their people.

Having a local guide from On the Go Tours to explain things and have questions answered was worth its weight in gold. Super knowledgeable.

Phnom Penh had great markets, never would have realised all the amazing treasures you can pick up and it wasn’t crowded or busy at all… except when crossing a road which is an interesting experience!

We flew from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap - with the city having no high rise buildings and the locals loving tourists it felt very clean and safe. We had a new local guide accompanying us and showing us around.

One of our first stops was visiting a local family and planting trees, a great way to give back to the village and supporting local.

We also visited a Butterfly Conservation Park and then the first of many temples - Banteay Srey, Ta Prohm and Angkor Thom.

In the evening we went to a Phare Circus which had the crowd entertained and on the edge of our seats.

A visit to Siem Reap you can’t not visit Angkor Wat and our group all opted for an early start to watch the sunrise from this majestic spot. It was beautiful to see it all come into light and then explore the temple early in the morning.

A final highlight of the tour was taking a boat trip to see the floating houses/villages on Tonle Sap Lake.

Always fascinating to see how others live and by doing this trip it supports their community.

The food was delicious at the hotels and all restaurants we visited were stunning and great value for money.

It was fun to explore the markets, Pub Street and enjoy foot massages every opportunity we had.

Visiting at the end of the wet season it was hot and humid so air conditioned vans, accommodation and an ample supply of drinking water was welcomed.

On the Go Tours was a fantastic way to travel and see all the hot spots of Cambodia with a local guide full of knowledge and experience always happy to answer any questions.

I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to experience Cambodia on a guided tour.
