A dinner table by the window, watching the waves as we cruised slowly from Sorrento, sipping my champagne had me thinking this is the life… A basket of delicious bread was delivered to my table, and a cart with the choice of 10 different olive oils ‘This one is sweet, this one is spicy, this one is bitter….’, I asked for the best and had it paired with one of the 3 tasty balsamic vinegars on offer, for my bread. I still dream of that fresh focaccia to this day! Toscana (Italian themed), the first of four specialty restaurants I tried on Oceania Riviera was incredible!
Red Ginger (Asian themed) was another dinner highlight. I even had a selection of chopsticks to choose from and a herbal tea menu to end the meal. What a treat to have these themed dining experiences on board.
Oceania Cruises are known for ‘The finest cuisine at sea’ and I agree with this - I enjoyed every single meal on my 10 nights onboard, cruising around Italy recently.
Perfect for the foodies, at 4pm every day, afternoon tea was served in in the large observation lounge with floor to ceiling windows looking out to sea. A real English experience with fine cups and saucers, complete with a vast choice of savoury and sweet treats. I was really able to relax and take it all in while listening to the string quartet play – just divine!
Of course, every cruise ship, including this one, features an a la carte restaurant and buffet however the additional 4 speciality restaurants (at no extra charge) truly set Oceania apart. Alongside their smaller size, these are just beautiful ships with great attention to detail. Definitely a cruise to remember… for all the right reasons!
The beauty of cruising means there is something for everyone and as there are so many options out there, it’s important to get it right.
